Nationally, 46% of Offenders on conventional probation commit a new
offense, and 60% commit a probation violation, according to the National
Association of Drug Court Professionals. The Walker Outreach Foundation
will work with existing community agencies and behavioral health and
recovery service providers to assist adults currently incarcerated in
Lorain County, to successfully transition back into the Community by:
- Building relationships of trust
- Reconnecting Offenders with their families
- Providing a healthy Support System
- Encouraging Offenders to pursue their Goals through Training and Education
- Providing Transportation for Doctors Visits, Parole Visits, Grocery Stores, Job Interviews, Church Services, etc...
- Providing resources for Basic Needs such as: Food, Shelter, Clothing, and Health Care
- Providing an opportunity for people with warrants to turn themselves in through "Safe Surrender"
- Providing Transportation "FREE OF CHARGE" for children and the elderly to visit parents and there loved ones who are incarcerated throughout the state of Ohio
- Providing Employment to Men and Women who have been convicted of felonies
